This will be a short but scenic ride through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. After heading down Pleasant Valley Rd. through El Dorado & Diamond Springs, we'll take Buck's Bar Road through the towns of Somerset and Pleasant Valley.

We'll take Sly Park Road to Mormon Emigrant Trail, stopping and paying tribute to the five bikers who lost their lives at this spot on Sept. 9, 1989. Every rider who visits the site leaves something in remembrance. The entire memorial is covered and adorned with relics, mementos, knick-knacks and other offerings laid there in honor of the fallen riders. Even the crosses sport bandanas, key chains, and flowers from recent visitors to the shrine.

After heading back to the Sly Park Resort Country Store (4782 Sly Park Rd) for a quick rest stop, snack, or fuel, we'll head north to the SPORTSMAN'S HALL for lunch. https://sportsmans-hall.net/history/

The Hall was originally a hotel, restaurant, and a stage stop that could accommodate 500 horses, with extensive corrals. It is 12 miles to the east of Placerville and was also known as 12 Mile House.

We will continue down HWY 50 to Cameron Park , at which point the ride will end at Baskin Robbins. Your ride Ride leader ( Mike Nolasco) will treat all to ice cream of your choice.
